The SYF Annual Banquet / 35th Birthday celebrations

The annual Dinner is always a popular entry in the SYF calendar.

However this year it was even more special as it was coupled with our 35th Anniversary celebrations. Members and their guests met at The Great Hall Barts, where they were treated to a most cordial drinks reception. A chance to catch up with friends and indeed make some new acquaintances.
Eventually it was time for those present to make their way up the famous Grand Staircase, and stand by their places within the gorgeous Georgian splendour that is The Great Hall.

Thanks go to Fitness Dan who kindly sponsored the drinks reception.

The Chairman, her distinguished guests and committee members marched into the Hall to the magnificent traditional sounds provided by an award winning Piper, Fraser Dewar, who had made a long trip London just for this evening!

A superb banquet followed. This consisted of some first class food and wine, of which many guests later commented upon extremely favourably.
Next, it was time for some speeches and after dinner entertainment. Mistress Tax Adviser gave a fantastic toast to the Chairman.

Our Chairman Victoria graciously thanked her and gave a rousing speech, which provided for a neat review of what she described as an extraordinary and very enjoyable year. Past Chairman Stephen Plumb then regaled the room with a most humorous and entertaining speech.

A perfect night, but by no means over because next it was time for the Ceilidh! Everyone got involved  and this was a really different and fun experience for many there.

All in all a fantastic and fitting celebration of an incredible SYF year and its 35 year birthday!
